Aloke Lohia

He is the founder and Group CEO of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, or IVL. He has lived in Thailand for over 20 years during which time he has built IVL into the world’s leading Polyester Value Chain Company. IVL has operations in PTA, PET and Polyester with 39 production facilities and over 9,000 employees globally. He recently announced the company’s planned move further upstream into ethylene oxide and ethylene glycols with ambitions to build IVL into one of the world’s leading chemical companies. He was recently named one of the world’s top power players in the chemical industry by the world's largest petrochemical market information provider, ICIS.

Mr. Lohia started Thailand’s first PET business, Indorama Polymers, in 1995, taking it public in 2005. In February 2010, he delisted Indorama Polymers and listed its larger parent Indorama Ventures successfully on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, or SET. The company is one of the SET 50 companies, a part of the FTSE SET Large Cap index for Thailand and a part of the MSCI for Thailand.

Educated at Delhi University, Mr. Lohia is married to Suchitra who runs the Packaging arm of IVL. They have three children.
